Since 1995 Shane's Logging, Excavating and Clearing has offered timber appraisals and logging services to thousands in the Southwestern Counties of PA and the Northern Counties of WV. I didn't choose logging, it chose me; but I truly love and enjoy my family trade. I was born into a family of farmers and loggers. I am a 6th generation logger and my son is 7th. I have had the privilege to work for the Army Corp of Engineers, ASPLUNDH, CAHBA, Dominion Gas and many more. We are experienced with many certifications and awards under our belt. We have cleared land and created serine landscapes for housing developments, gulf courses, parks, businesses, and homeowners. For decades we have helped landowners harvest their timber and accomplish the larger projects that they need done on their property. We offer free consultation and timber appraisals; so give us a call and allow us to help you accomplish your goals.
Consultation & Services
As a consulting forester I will arrange to meet you on site. We'll then discuss your goals and objectives. I will walk your entire wooded area and afterwards, I will offer my recommendations as an experienced forester and we will discuss what should be done. I will help determine the selection of trees and type of harvest for you. Consultation leads to my timber appraisal of your selected trees for harvest. This consultation and appraisal is FREE!

Contracts
Our logging contracts are flexible. We could do it on percentage in which you receive a certain percentage of what each load brings along with copies of the loads invoice, dole scale. Percentages usually are 60/40, 50/50, 65/35; it all depends on what you want and what kind of timber you have. With percentage contracts you get paid when we do and you get the exact amount of what you timber is worth. We can also buy your timber upfront, once we agree on price we will spell it all out on paper. All timber harvest contracts with us guarantee that we are fully insured, and that we will take care of all necessary permits, road bonds, etc. We will even bring sample contracts for you to look at!

All other job inquiries separate from logging will be contracted as well, once the job description and price is agreed upon!

What makes us different from other Logging Companies?
Other companies will look at your timber with the goal of cutting every big tree down, go up to the 1st or 2nd fork and cut it off leaving a very large amount of tree tops on your property.
We call them saw log hogs!!!
They hog through taking every nice tree and leave the rest.
Our goal is to cut your timber in a way that will allow a better future growth.
We will cut and haul away even dead or dying timber!
When it comes to tops we try to take everything down to 4 inches. If it's 4 inches thick and 8 feet long or more, we can sell it!
